Level up your skills in our intermediate stained glass class taught by Jasmine (she/they) of Plant Haus Designs. In this class we will build on the foundational skills taught in our intro class by working with slightly more difficult patterns, and working with hobby came.

This is an intermediate class, it’s mandatory that you have already taken our intro to stained glass or have equivalent experience to sign up.

You will learn all the skills and techniques to create and take home your own sun catcher. On the day of the class, you will be given a few designs to choose from to make.

Please note: This workshop includes working with and breaking glass, as well as soldering and using chemicals. If you have your own 3M respirator please bring it, but we have PPE for you to use. Must be 18+ to attend Must wear closed toe shoes

What is hobby came?

Hobby came is a soft thin lead strip that provides thicker more uniform lines on a stained glass piece, creating a more polished and consistent appearance to your finished piece.

Why use hobby came?

It’s really a matter of personal preference, but it’s a great skill and material to have in your glass artist’s tool box. Hobby came can better hide imperfections in glass cuts, as well as having heavier and more regular lines. Hobby came also gives pieces the more traditional look that many old stained glass windows have.
