Have you ever be interested in making you own book? Whether you’re an artist, a poet, a writer, a painter, a journaler, or even someone who makes a to do list from time to time, there are few things as satisfying as opening up a new blank book. Join us in learning coptic bookbinding and make your own book in this two-day class! Using thick watercolor paper, you will leave the class with your finish product being a hearty and luxurious multipurpose book to write, draw, or paint in. You’ll not only take home your finished book, but also the skills needed to bind more books in the future on your own.

What is coptic bookbinding?

Coptic binding is a bookbinding technique that uses thread to sew book pages together without glue or staples. The technique creates a chain of knots that resembles a chain stitch, and the book can lie flat when open. 

What to bring?

We will have everything you need to complete your finished product, however, if you’d like to bring any items to collage or put on the cover you’re more than welcome to bring them with you!

Open to participants 16+ No experience required!! Beginners are always welcome and celebrated :)
